REGNER® chosen as powerful mini actuators technology provider for the QM-7 SEDEO ERGO
The California-based company, Sunrise Medical LLC, has just announced the launch of the QM-7 SEDEO ERGO power wheelchair last Monday, 12 December 2016. Its most advanced power wheelchair offers function and luxury for a unique driving experience. The combination of the cutting-edge seating system and its advanced suspension creates an incredibly smooth experience on various terrains, the right fit for the user and utmost comfort in any position.
According to Pete Coburn, U.S. Commercial Operations Head at Sunrise Medical, “the new QM-7 with SEDEO Ergo seating is designed to be the most innovative mid-wheel drive power chair in the industry. This design was driven by feedback from clinicians, dealers, and end-users to create the best experience for the client”.

The RA-Mini provides the perfect combination of power and compact design
Integrated into the castor locking framework, the RA-Mini actuator enables the system to achieve full suspension at any elevation, seating position or driving speed, so that the users will experience unparalleled stability and security while negotiating uneven surfaces and transitioning from ramps to level surfaces. As a result, the users never have to sacrifice comfort for function.
The RA-Mini actuator is specially designed with a small overall dimension along with a high power, offering a perfect solution for a wide range of applications where space is of the essence. In the suspension system, the RA-Mini is located in a specially-shaped tiny receptacle on the platform. The RA-Mini is not only the perfect partner for reduced spaces, but it is also the only one when it comes to lifting force and ingress protection.
The RA-Mini provides a truly perfect combination of power, compact design, robust aluminum housing, high IP54 protection and integrated electronics. This means reliable performance supporting loads up to 45N built in a device that fits in the palm of the hand.
In addition to its compact dimensions, the RA-Mini has an overcurrent protection system, which prevents the motor from any damage. When the RA-Mini arrives at its fully extended or fully retracted position, an electric limit switch automatically trips out the current. In both stroke endpoints, the actuator will only move in the opposite direction. When it is separated from either of its endpoints, it resumes its normal function, being able to move freely in either direction.
The RA-MINI is the suspension lock system key device in the QM-7.
Steering the direction of future mobility
As an innovative company, REGNER® has a long tradition of developing advanced solutions to solve the most complex industry challenges, applying its in-depth knowledge of the latest materials and processes to work in designing outstandingly reliable products and applications for its customers. Since 2005, REGNER® has taken pride in being the partner for the Fresno-headquartered company’s vision to enhance the lives of the physically challenged.
The manufacturing of a power wheelchair shares a lot of characteristics with those of a car’s. Both vehicles need to be customized following the users’ requests, adding precise outfitting and exquisite attention to detail. Both vehicles need to be built in a just-in-time manufacturing process with the best technology possible to meet the most demanding needs. Innovative antibacterial textiles, superior speed control motor encoders, silent linear actuators, integrated intelligent drive systems and wireless communications are shaping a new mobility industry.
Dan Amman, the president of General Motors, one of the oldest car manufacturers in the U.S., recently stated: “We think there’s going to be more change in the world of mobility in the next five years than there has been in the last 50 years”. Specifically, the shift in consumer behavior where the new technologies are starting to alter the way that users express their satisfaction towards solutions and services. The remote communications and big data will play an important role in meeting the demands of the most sophisticated products.
REGNER® is fully involved in these changes offering a full range of reliable remote control solutions, focused on improving precise feedback and delivering relevant information for the most exigent applications.
